Mangaluru, Jun 10: A stretch of land spanning over several acres located by the side of state highway between Kinnigoli and Mulky at Angaragudde, Kenchakere, owned by an individual, caught fire accidentally. Trees and other vegetation standing in this vast land were destroyed due to fire. Local social workers, Santosh Angaragudde, Sudheer Shetty and Atikaribettu panchayat member, Jeevan Shetty, reportedly conveyed information to fire brigade.

As the flames threatened to destroy the petty shop belonging to Shobha by the roadside, locals helped her to shift the belongings.

The fire brigade found it hard to douse the fire as the private land has been left neglected since many years and there is no proper way to enter it. The locals have been asked to be careful.

In the meantime, a person moving on the bike was watching the fire when driving. He hit a boy crossing the road. Both were injured in the accident.
