Kundapur, Jun 11: “People have voted with the intention that Modi led government should come back to power again. More than 80% voting was recorded. A margin of 3.5 lac was possible because of it. We will have to thank all the voters who have brought about victory beyond our expectations. A new anxiety was seen during elections. A fishermen leader worked against us. He campaigned more than the candidate. Fishermen in the coast benefited from it. Therefore, we were naturally anxious not only here but till Delhi. The entrepreneur had worked enough through trust and worked for society. Therefore, we were worried. But our fishermen, Mogaveera and Kharvi community members have voted for Hindutva, Modi and BJP and brought us victory,” said MP Shobha Karandlaje.

She was speaking in a programme held to congratulate Kundapur Vidhan Sabha BJP activists in Koteshwar Vadiraj Kalyana Mantapa.

“The government in Karnataka is lagging in effectively implementing several schemes of the center including Ayushman Bharath. Including Ayushman project in Karnataka scheme is not right. The prime minister has introduced several schemes for the welfare of people in the country. Those should reach the people. We will be working towards that goal. I am bound to always fulfill the demands of the constituency,” she said.

“Modi lead government has provided Rs 7,122 crore for relief from flood and drought. There is drinking water issue in Udupi but the district administration does not make use of the funds from the center and make the facilities reach the people. I have brought Rs 570 crore to Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency under CRF grant. They are speaking of Sala Manna.

But loan is not condoned anywhere. The coalition government has indulged in internal squabbles. Every scheme brought about by Modi should reach the people. Gram panchayat elections will be held in another ten months. As funds are received by the gram panchayat, our people should get elected there. Elections may also be held anytime in the state. We should be prepared for it,” she said.

Vidhan Parishad opposition leader Kota Srinivas Poojary spoke addressing the programme. Kundapur MLA Srinivas Shetty congratulated the new MP and expressed his gratitude to the voters in the constituency.

District BJP president Mattar Rathnaker Hegde, BJP’s Suprasad Shetty, Navin Kumar Shetty, Yashpal Suvarna, Sandhya Ramesh, zilla panchayat former member Ganapathi T Sriyan, fishermen federation president Sadananda Balkoor, Mahila Morcha president Gunarathna, taluk panchayat vice president Ramkishan Hegde, zilla panchayat members Srilatha Suresh Shetty, Laxmi Manju Billava, Suprita Kulal, Jyothi Udaya Poojary, Roopa Pai and Sathish Poojary were present.

Kundapur block BJP chief secretary Bhasker Billava welcomed. Kundapur block president Suresh Shetty Kadoor gave an introduction. Block chief secretary Shanker Ankadakatte compered the programme.
