Kasargod: Attempt to murder Bajrang Dal activist - One arrested

Kasargod, Jun 11: In connection with the attempt to murder Prasad (28), convener of Bajrang Dal's Bayaru unit and resident of Kojappe, the Manjeshwar police have arrested one person. Prasad was stabbed with a knife.

The arrested accused happens to be Abubakker Sidique (27) from Bayaru Dalikukku. He was arrested by a police team led by sub-inspector, Subhashchandran, on Sunday from near Bayaru. On being produced in the court, he was remanded to two weeks of judicial custody.

The police are making all out efforts to arrest five other accused, who they have learnt, have escaped to Karnataka.

Prasad Kojappe was sitting in front of a shop on June 7 night when a gang of six which came in motor bikes, attcked him and also inflicted injury on his body with a knife. A case under different sections of Indian Penal Code was registered against six persons.

Prasad had been named as an accused in a case of stabbing and injuring Abdul Karim Musluiyar, resident of Bayaru Pervody Kallakatte, on the day a call for Hartal was given by BJP activists.
