Journalist Mohammed Arif selected for Brand Mangaluru award

Mangaluru, Jun 22: Senior reporter of Vijaya Karnataka daily newspaper Mangaluru edition, Mohammed Arif is selected for Brand Mangaluru award from Sukesh Kumar charity fund. The award is presented by Dakshina Kannada district working journalist’s association for report that reflects on human values and harmony. Mohammed Arif is being presented the award for ‘Bhajanotsavakke Muslimarinda Akki Horekanike’ (Horekanike by Muslims for Bhajan festival) news that was published in Vijaya Karnataka on April 9, 2018. The award consists of Rs 5,001 cash, certificate and a memento.

The selection was made by a committee of judges that included Mangaluru Akashvani retired director Dr Vasanth Kumar Perla and Besant College head of the department of journalism Smitha Shenoy.

“The award will be presented by state additional director general of Police Kamal Pant in the conference of Dakshina Kannada journalists in Kudmul Ranga Rao auditorium here on July 1,” stated Dakshina Kannada district working journalist’s association chief secretary Ibrahim Adkastala in a news release.
