New Delhi, May 15: The Congress-led United Progressive Alliance will lead with 210 to 225 seats and its ally DMK will do extremely well in Tamil Nadu, the CNN-IBN news channel projected Friday evening, hours before the Lok Sabha vote count begins.
The channel placed the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance as winning 180 to 195 seats, in a post-poll projection.
The news channel said the DMK's win has "changed the projections" for the alliance.
It also said Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Bannerjee will dent the red bastion in West Bengal.
CNN IBN has given 95 to 110 seats to the Third Front, 25 to 35 to the Fourth Front and 15 to 20 seats to others.
It has projected a figure of between 158 and 173 for the Congress, 132 and 147 seats for BJP, between 30 and 40 seats to the Left and the Bahujan Samaj Party is expected to get 24 and 32.
The DMK is expected to win 25-30 seats in Tamil Nadu.
