Moodbidri: Watch video – MLA Umanath Kotian warns officials on work lethargy

Daijiworld Media Network – Moodbidri (EP)

Moodbidri, Jul 1: MLA Umanath Kotian expressed anguish against the work ethic of staff in local village government office (Nada Kacheri) on Monday, July 1.

He took the staff who were not responding to the problems and applications of citizens and spending time on their mobile phones. People who were dissatisfied with the work had brought the matter to the notice of the MLA. The MLA went with the people to the office and warned the staff against use of mobile phones during office hours.

Kotian asked the staff to respond to the people coming there and work sincerely without spending time on mobiles.

He also cited a predicament of a woman who delivered a baby last month and had to struggle to get her work done at the Nada Kacheri.

He bluntly warned them in the end again against using mobile phones during office hours without proper reasons.

Please MLA Kotian, pass a legislation to dismiss the lethargic public servant (or public bosses) for poor performance. There should be time line for disposing every file. If there is any information missing, these public servants should take proactive approach and try to correct it walking an extra mile. Every case should be disposed off within specified time limit or else the public servant should be held responsible.
What do you do if your domestic servant does not do the job he/she assigned to to? You shout at them right. What the MLA did was right. Because these servants get paid from tax payers money and act like their bosses. Fire them left and right and fine someone who can do the job right. We need to change the lethargic culture. I support public to shout at non performing servants including doctors, no matter if they go on strike national level. If you are not fit for the job, you should quit. Or else, public will fire you. We need to have a movement to change the attitudes of these public servants. Remember, they are the servants (not the bosses) and they accepted the job to serve the public. If they fail to do that, public have all the rights to yell at them. If they don't like it quit the job and find something else to do like rolling beedis etc.

This is how religion and caste does not matter when it comes to service. Citizens should demand service and justice from their elected representatives and public servants. They are servants/employees and we are the bosses/employers. Keep up the good work, Sir, speak for humanity.

Well done. This was the need of hour. More actions need to be taken,
    Specialties of this place:

    1. Rampant corrupt practices followed here.
    2. Only MONEY speaks here.
    3. Poor & Honest people have to stand in long queues.
    4. If you give money, you work will be done in minutes, and they will tell you exactly when your work
    will be done.
    5. If no money is given, they will say "COME TOMORROW,SERVER PROBLEM".
    6. No sympathy for old, disabled, ill people.
    7. No superior officers, come here, this place is run by few ladies.
    8. Half of time, these ladies will be busy chit-chatting in their own Smart Phones.
    9. They have long lunch/tea/snack- breaks.
    10. These ladies are very rude on common people, very very rude.
