Mangalore, May 22:
The district Congress committee (DCC) organized a vehicular rally to celebrate the victory of the party in bagging highest number of MP seats and also the formation of the government at the centre by the party, on Friday, May 22.

The vehicle rally was organized by the DCC, to provide an opportunity to the Congressmen and other followers to express their jubilation and convey best wishes to the new government at the centre. Alongside taking out the vehicular rally, the party workers also burst crackers and distributed sweets.

DCC vice-presidents Ivan D souza, Kodijal Ibrahim and secretary T K Sudheer and others were in the front row of the rally. The rally moved through major roads of the city, beginning at their office near the government college in Hampanakatta.

Before the rally was flagged off, Ivan D’ Souza said, the day is very auspicious and it is being celebrated to hail the voters for their verdict in favour of the Congress, for its performances and people-friendly rule.

The party members and the workers showed victory signs and raised victory slogans as the vehicles which included two-wheelers, wound through the city roads. The rally moved about for nearly 90 minutes and dispersed after reaching Kankanady in the city.

I whole heartedly agree with the observations of Ms Asha Nayak/Udupi. Educated people have elected an uneducated person. Its nothing but polarisation. History repeats itself. Pls recall Mr T.A.Pai,s defeat in the hands of Mr Oscar Fernandes. At the time in Karnataka congress was riding high and now BJP wave is high. There is no comparision between the credibilities of Nalin Kumar and Janardhan Poojary as it holds good in case of T.A Pai and Oscar Fernandes.

yes, really joyous occassion..i think some ppl cannot digest the victory of congress all over india..i feel congress didnt field good candidates in karnataka...and considring the hindutva wave in the coastal it was really difficult for poojary to win...even a good candidate like Jayaprakash Hegde lost.....evryone knows karnataka politcs is based on caste and religion... anyway one thing india is in safe hand for next two years.... hope there wont be a godhra...and a reaction to godhra...

Dear clarence miranda, Do not make sweeping remark about Mr. Poojary who is honest and with clean image. He was the voice of mangalore in Lok Sabha. He got more than 4 lakh votes and remember he was the strong candidate than any other leaders in the DK congress today.

Defeat in the elections is not the certificate for good or bad people. Please do not make a comment like "useless" to the towering leader like Mr. Poojary. I advise you to be careful in your observations.

shame on you mr. Poojary & mr. Oscar. people in Udupi / Mangalore are celebrating your fun of inefficiency of your performence in your respective constituencies. either perform or get out from the party, make way others to perfom the developemnt of both constituencies. both of you are useless repesentatives sitting on the hot seat of congress.

MR Ramesh, Shashikanth and Miranda you are right. Shame on those people who are celebrating the victory even after losing from DK. Now I think Poojary sir should retire. He should not think of contesting next lokasabha election. In case if he still wants to contest next lokasabha elections let him think of contesting from other place as Moily sir did.

Why you think that Congress lost the seat in Mangalore. The difference is only Forty Thousand out of Nine Lakhs Votes between Bjp and Congress. No doubt these forty thousand votes are of unemployed youth who are seen now and then in many activities.

Congress leaders as well as workers got the right to celebrate their victory at the centre.Let us not taunt them. At the same time they should take up Self Assesment Tax, Water Rate hike, Scarcity of Drinking Water, Non issue of Ration Card and other Local issues which effects the common people.
