Udupi, Jul 5: Udupi district NSUI organization has condemned the gang rape of a student of a prestigious college in Puttur by her classmates.

“Incidents such as this are increasing in Dakshina Kannada these days as students are consuming ganja that is available easily. The suspect of a recent incident of attempted murder also had consumed the drug. The rapists in Puttur gang rape committing the crime while under the influence of drugs has made our head bow in shame. The police department needs to conduct suitable investigations into it.”

“The crime of the suspects is extremely shameful as they had made the video recording of the act go viral in social network trying to spoil the health of society. The entire society is made to bow their heads because of it. Stringent action should be taken against the suspects.”

“District police should consider the gang rape seriously. The rapists should be punished soon without getting influenced by outside pressure even if they belong to any organization and the girl should get justice. Police should also take suitable action to prevent drug trafficking. Protests will be held throughout the district if the suspects are not punished,” stated Chirstan D’Almeida, president of NSUI in a press release.
