Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Jul 7: "BJP is trying to collapse the coalition government from the time it is formed. BJP are the ones who made special flight arrangements for the disgruntled MLAs to go to Mumbai," said former Congress MP Mallikarjun Kharge.

Kharge was speaking to the reporters on Sunday, after having a meeting with his confidants at his residence. He further said, "People who were faithful to the Congress party for many years also have resigned. We have to see how much we will succeed in convincing them to withdraw their resignations. BJP had conducted 'Operation Lotus' in 14 states of the country. BJP has a hand in the resignation of the MLAs of Congress and JD (S)."

"BJP always tried to destabilize an elected government. It is also trying to intimidate the MLAs.This is not right. Now there is a concern whether democracy will remain in this country. Democracy is in danger because of BJP," added Kharge.

Amaregowda Bayyapura, MLA from Kushtagi spoke to the reporters in front of the residence of Kharge and said, "I am saying repeatedly that I am not joining BJP. I will be in Congress only. Media is responsible for these kind of rumours. I have told ten times that there is no possibility of me going to BJP. I will not desert Congress party under any reason. Still some media showed my name among the dissident MLAs on Saturday. I am with the leaders of the Congress party. I will follow what the leaders say. Media is responsible for the downfall of the government."
