Bantwal, Jul 8: ICYM Madanthyar unit won Mangaluru diocese level youth overall championship-2019 at the annual general meeting held at Milagres College auditorium here on Sunday, July 7. The honour was presented by Most Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore.

From the fast years Indian Catholic Movement of the diocese of Mangaluru honoured top 10 parishes for their overall performance in the youth activities. The championship is awarded every year based on the performance of ICYM units in different parishes of the diocese of Mangaluru. ICYM Madanthyar unit known for his service, dedication and performance has hosted more than 40 various programmes throughout the year. Recently ICYM Madanthyar unit had won overall championship at Beltangady deanery level.

The performance of the unit was under the guidance of director Fr Basil Vaz, parish priest Madanthyar parish, and assistant director Fr Alwyn Dsouza and under the leadership of ICYM president Ronson Vegais and secretary Lavita.
