Mangaluru, Jul 8: Canara Organization for Development and Peace (CODP) (R), along with members of Kamadhenu and Kalpavriksha associations and self-service organizations, celebrated Ramzan and also held a training on rain water harvesting at the auditorium of the organization.

Speaking on the occasion Fr Oswald Monteiro, director of CODP, who presided over the function, said, "CODP is working for the upliftment of the financially poor people of the society since the last 44 years through various schemes. Rain Water harvesting is a part of this effort in order to protect the environment. In addition, today we are celebrating Ramzan festival through the self-help associations. Let us love one another and build a society of co-existence and make our country march towards progress and development."

Antony Nazareth, activist of CODP gave the information with regards to rain water harvesting. Coordinator of CODP Ravikumar Crasta and worker Kalagirish were present on the dais. Poornima welcomed the gathering. Sandhya rendered the vote of thanks. Satyavati compered the programme. Around 75 people took part in the programme.
