Bengaluru: Sonia succeeds in mollifying angry Soumya Reddy

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jul 9: Reportedly, Congress leader, Sonia Gandhi, was able to mollify the feelings of Soumya Reddy, Congress MLA from Jayanagar here, who has been identified with dissident MLAs, during their meeting on Monday July 8.

Sources say that Soumya was satisfied with the explanations given and promises made by Sonia Gandhi and hence decided to withdraw her decision to leave the party.

During the discussions lasting over 30 minutes, it is said that Sonia Gandhi put specific questions relating to political scenario in Karnataka and got inputs from Soumya. Soumya expressed her disgust at the recent developments within the party and told Sonia that she is unhappy at senior party leaders including her father, Ramalinga Reddy, having been sidelined and neglected. Issues discussed also covered questions like who was behind the trip of legislators to Mumbai, and whether state Congress leaders have connived in engineering mass resignations.

In view of the above development, Ramalinga Reddy has been requested by Sonia through his daughter not to leave the post. She has promised that solution to the problem would be found and state leaders will do the needful. Therefore, there are bright chances of both Soumya and Ramalinga Reddy attending the Congress legislature party meeting on Tuesday July 9.
