Bengaluru, Jul 16: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, Dinesh Gundu Rao, has sounded warning bell to rebel legislators who have tendered resignation from the assembly membership and are preparing to join the BJP. He asked these MLAs to tread carefully and keep in mind the Goa case.

Speaking to media persons on Monday July 15, Rao noted that a decision has been taken to seek trust vote on Thursday. "The Supreme Court is scheduled to deliver its judgement in the case on Tuesday. The Supreme Court does not have the authority to issue any order to the assembly speaker. Therefore, on Thursday, when the trust vote comes up, we will have enough support on our side to prove majority," he explained.

The KPCC president said that his party is making efforts to retain its legislators, as these leaders had been working for the party and contributed to the party's growth. "As they were with us for long, we have been trying to win over their confidence. But BJP wants that the MLAs who have tendered resignations have to be disqualified. If they are disqualified, BJP gets the chance to form government, and none of the disgruntled leaders will become ministers. BJP is using people who have resigned like sacrificial goats. BJP wants to turn them into stooges and make them wait in front of the BJP office for nominations," he stated.

Gundu Rao said that none of the Congress leaders want any of these leaders to get disqualified. "They should understand the position. BJP aims at grabbing power at any cost. It will never help these leaders to come up in politics. This is a big game plan of the BJP," he felt.
