New Delhi, Jun 2: The west district police in New Delhi have arrested a 25-year-old woman, teacher of a play school at Pashim Vihar and her boyfriend, for being allegedly involved in the murder of her own mother, 52-year-old Kiran Kapoor at her residence at State Bank Nagar in west Delhi. Kiran was found dead with 24 wounds on her body on the night of May 28.
``We have arrested the daughter Sakshi and her boyfriend Sunny in this regard. All the murder weapons and other items have been recovered from her possession and the girl has confessed to her role even before her family members,'' said Sharad Aggarwal, DCP (west).
According to sleuths, Kiran had gone to a nearby satsang at Pashim Vihar on the evening of May 28. Her daughter Sakshi was alone at the Kapoor residence as her husband, Ashok Kapoor, a chartered accountant and her son who works for a leading financial institution were away at their respective offices.
When she returned home, Kiran allegedly found Sunny in the same room with her daughter, claimed DCP Aggarwal. She objected to this and threatened to raise a hue and cry.
Initially, Sunny asked Sakshi to convince her mother not to shout. ``However, when she did not relent, Sunny allegedly hit her on her head with an empty beer bottle. As Kiran slumped to the floor, Sunny went to the kitchen and fetched a kitchen knife with which he struck her repeatedly.
He then told Sakshi to call the call the police and claim that armed robbers had broken into her house. “She did as she was told,'' said the DCP.
