Abu Dhabi, Jul 25: A Filipino domestic worker, residing in the Emirate, was jailed for ten years and fined Dh 2 million for spreading the ideology of terror group ISIS. The man will be deported at the end of his sentence, Abu Dhabi Court of Appeal ruled on Wednesday.
The 30 year old Filipino man identified as Hassan D A A, was sentenced for joining ISIS and promoting its activities through five different Facebook accounts and one Twitter and one Telegram account.
Authorities have shut down Hassan's social media accounts, through which he published information promoting the terror organisation and urged people to support it financially.
Other electronic gadgets like computers, mobile phones, laptops and cameras belonging to the convict were also seized. Abu Dhabi Court of Appeal ruled that the convict should pay all expenses related to the case.
