Bangalore, Jun 16: The meteorological department expects the monsoons, which lost intensity due to the devastating cyclone Aila, to pick up intensity with effect from Thursday, June 18. It expects that the air pressure that can precipitate monsoons will be created in the Bay of Bengal by then.

Coastal Karnataka, Konkan coast, Goa, Kerala, Laksha Dweep, Andaman and Nicobar islands etc., are expected to get heavy rains after a gap of two days. Coastal Karnataka received good rains on Monday June 15, averaging around two to three cms.
