Cleveland, Ohio, Jun 22:
It was a memorable day for everyone who attended summer day out organized by Indian Catholics of North East Ohio on Sunday June 21.  The day out started with a Holy Mass at the Holy Trinity Church by parish priest Fr Albert Veigas. In his homily, he addressed the need to unite community people and get involved in activities.  He also blessed all the fathers present for their leadership role in their families.

Pot Luck Food was great - organized by Arlene Carvalho – which had US and Indian cuisine – Samosas, Bhajas, Sandwiches, Fruits Salads, Sannas, Biryani, Channa Sukka, Salad, etc filled on the food tables for the participants.  It was a very windy summer day and some Styrofoam plates flew away while savoring food sending the contents to the ground!

There were sports activities for persons of all ages.  Rahul D’Mello conducted the first ice-breaker game where almost every family member had an opportunity to introduce his/her family members to the crowd and their favourite activity in real life.  Nina Shresta and Roy D’Mello conducted various games for children and adults including pineda, water balloons, roll and crawl, dog and the bone, etc while adults were busy playing cricket.

When the sun ran away from the blue skies, it was time to dance to the tunes of variety music by DJ Peter D’Souza.  Michael Shresta entertained the crowd with playing his saxophone to Konkani oldies songs.  Several community members from several neighboring cities and one family from Chicago took part in this memorable day out.
