Centre Announces Maoists a Terrorist Organization

New Delhi, Jun 22:
The Centre on Monday banned the CPI (Maoist) under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, calling it a terrorist organization.

Home ministry sources said the decision was taken at a high-level meeting.

"The decision has been taken to ban CPI (Maoist) under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act as a terrorist organisation," they said.

CPI (Maoist), which is the main Naxal group in the country, has been bracketed with 34 other organizations including LeT and SIMI who are in the list of banned outfits.

West Bengal's ruling Left Front on Monday said it was against banning the CPI (Maoist) and will counter such outfits politically, days after chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee stated that his government will give a serious thought to proscribing the Naxals.

"We have decided that such outfits, which follow misguided politics, cannot be countered by banning them. It is important to counter the activities of these outfits politically," Left Front chairman Biman Bose said.

Mr Aditya/Udupi. No body has given the power to these organisations to defend India. We have our own powerful military made up of Indians from all communities. They are enough. What so called defenders are not defending any one but destroying. They are killing their own citizen.

Try to defend the people who live bewteen Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Just dont try to defend only the physical boundaries. In the past Pakistan tried their best to invade India and our proud army gave them a befitting reply. We are proud of our army.

We dont need these hate mongers to defend us. We are capable of defending ourselves as we trust our military and our judiciary.

Mr Tilak Shetty, I know they are not hindu organisation , but a perverted and self found islamic organisation who dont have any recognition in Quran or in islamic world. According to them, they feel all those against their ideologies are their enemies and advocate killing them. Last time they successfully carried out bombing of churches in mysore and bangalore.

I have the knowledge about their organisation who spread hate and violence. They too must be banned. All those who spread violence and hate are anti social, anti national and should be wiped out from India, be it a islamic or hindu or christian organisation. Only humanity and love and peace must be taught and practiced.

More than Naxalities, their attitude of merciless killing or damaging public properties is dangerous. Their common target are police, land owners, informers & netas. Whatever, be the fact, the brutal killing is difficult for anyone to digest. Best way is to wipe them out like Lankans did to LTTE.

No, this is not a welcome move by the central govt. Will they stop their activities if the govt. bans their organisation. The banned groups will be re-organised by other names. What must have done is to find and sort out the root cause of their demands and bring a peaceful solution to all the problems by mutual dialogues. How the oppressed people get justice if the Govt. has started to ban all the organisations which is fighting for the basic human rights.

Mr.Shahnawaz - For your information some of organizations you have mentioned is to defend India and not to divide. These organizations crop up due to some forces trying to destabilize India during Independance and earlier. It''s basically to protect India from invaders. Others are totally opposite.

The only one organization which might be violent in its approach , supports the downtrodden, landless workers, peasants are Maoist. They preach and practice casteless, classless society and they do not follow religion. In AP and other states they do not allow any Capitalist to acquire or by agriculturist to buy more than 10 acres of land.

These helpless peasants hopes are with these type of organizations as the govt. machinery has been bought by the Capitalist. For example in Karnataka it is by Reddy''s brother who loot state wealth and govt. keeps quiet as they also support the Capitalist. Upliftment of the downtrodden and bringing equality amongst citizens are more important.

Then automatically people will ignore these violent groups. Otherwise the peasants will still support them.

This is a good news to the nation, because nexal groups are banned. Rich and powerful people should not take the advantage of this.Nexal group has been orignated to avoid the suppresion of poor people from hands of the landlords and rich people.

However, as the time passed this has gone , bad to worse. In nexalite group mostly youth is involved. This youth group we will have to bring them back to our soceity. This is the comon factor in our soceity, to isolate such people. They should be allowed in the community. For this we should get ready to train ourselves to accept them, and make them realise that they were wrong. At that time only reformation will start.Let hope some good work in our nation.

Days may come where just in the manner of LTTE being crushed by Lankan forces, Maoists may be wiped away by Indian forces, provided good understanding exist among all State Govts. & the Centre.

Banning Naxalism is a welcome one. They call themselves CPI(Maoist-Leninists) while generally are known as Naxalists. Over years they have done lot of massacres, in states as Andra Pradesh & in past years in Karnataka, killing innocent people. Intially they jump in support of rural folk, with offering help, & gradually use them as shield for their activities. They are inhuman & on time of killing they are found to be merciless. Though late, it is good action by Central Govt.
