UAE: govt cut short working hours for employees

Daijiworld Media Network - Abu Dhabi (SR)

Abu Dhabi, Aug 26: The Federal Authority of Government Human Resources has decided to cut short working hours of government employees who have school-going children. With the new arrangement, the employees can get up to three hours off work during the first week of the new academic term.

This new system will help parents report late for work so that they can escort their kids to schools, or leave early to pick them up. Last year, the UAE Cabinet has adopted a resolution to help employees to be part of their children's school activities.

It also helps parents to attend parent-teacher meetings or their kids' graduation ceremonies by getting permission to report late or leave early.

Federal Authority for Government Human Resources made the resolution in coordination with National Programme for Happiness and Positivity.
