Al-Khobar, Aug 27: Indian Social Forum (ISF) east zone Karnataka unit celebrated India’s Independence Day here with gaiety.
ISF central committee president Vasim Rabbani who presided over the programme said that while recollecting the sacrifices by our elders we should be prepared for another sacrifice for relief from fascist democratic system. Chief Guest ISF central committee member Ameer Maulavi spoke on the part played by Muslims for India’s independence and contributions to India by Muslims.
India Fraternity Forum east Karnataka zone secretary Sajid Valavoor. Blood donors team’s Hafeez K C Road, ISF Khobar unit president Sunyaf Melkar were present. Sardar Sharif compered the programme. Faruk Khan Karkal welcomed. Zakir Hussain Gulbarga rendered vote of thanks.
Reading of poems, skits on patriotism and cultural programme were held as part of the celebrations.
