Sharjah: Four students accused of bullying released with only warning

Sharjah, Aug 29: A Sharjah court has let go off four boys accused of bullying with only a warning. A video of the incident from Kalba went viral where the accused assaulted and insulted another boy inside a bus.

The accused had posted a video clip of the entire incident on WhatsApp. The Kalba Misdemeanours Court cleared three other students who appeared in the video. Kalba's public prosecution stated to the court that there were seven students involved in the incident. Two defendants were sent to a juvenile centre affiliated to the Ministry of Interior. Five students were charged for the school bus attack and two for avenging the victim.

The accused were charged for assault, verbal abuse, filming and sharing the video on social media without the victim's consent.

The victim's father reported the incident after he received it on WhatsApp, after which he registered the complaint.

All the four accused admitted to their crime and spent 10 days at a juvenile home.

The case was in motion since July 1.
