Ras Al khaimah, Aug 3: The criminal court here, sentenced a GCC national to 19 months jail for luring and threatening to defame a woman. The man was accused of possessing pornographic videos and the court ordered him to pay Dh 150,000 fine.
As per court records, the convict created a Snapchat account posing as a young woman and tried to lure the victim, also a GCC national, into prostitution. The man hacked into the victim's snapchat account and downloaded her private pictures.
The convict then blackmailed the woman and told her that he will upload the pictures in social media unless she sent him personal videos. Based on the woman's complaint the convict was arrested by the police and his mobile phones were seized.
