Mangaluru: Rainfall declines in coast - Festivities go on unhindered

Mangaluru, Sep 7: Compared to the last some days, rainfall came down considerably on Friday September 6.

The city received sporadic rains. Rainfall had been less in other parts of Dakshina Kannada district too. Many Ganesha idols were immersed on Friday, which happened to be the fifth day of installation of Ganesha idol. As rainfall was less, the immersion ceremonies went ahead as planned.

Some rain was experienced in Subrahmanya, Putttur, Sullia, Beltangady, Moodbidri etc.

Udupi: The town got good rainfall for short durations all through the day on Friday. Because of this, power supply was disrupted now and then. The entire district received good rain with cloudy weather since morning. The rainfall was heavy in Kundapur, Byndoor, Karkala, Brahmavar, Padunbidri etc.

The meteorological department has predicted good rain for next two days in the district.
