Heavy Rains in State : 'My prayers Reached God' says Yeddy

Heavy Rains in State : 'My prayers Reached God' says Yeddy

BANGALORE, JUL 7:  With monsoon, which started playing truant after an early start, reviving and Karnataka receiving copious rains during the last few days in several parts of the state, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has claimed that his pilgrimage to temples to pray for rains had borne fruit.

``My prayers have reached God,’’ he said pointing out that the bountiful rains and the heavy inflows into most of the reservoirs had silenced the critics, especially the opposition parties for ridiculing him.

``When I went to temples, several people criticised me and wondered if it is possible to get rains by offering prayers. But I was confident. Now the dams are getting filled up,’’ he said pointing out that Gods will answer the sincere prayers of his devotees.

Yeddyurappa indicated that he would start visiting the state BJP office at least once a week and interact with party workers to hear their grievances. ``I will spend at least an hour during my visits to the party office,’’ he said commencing his programme on Tuesday for launching the state-level membership enrollment drive.

The chief minister’s promise to visit the state BJP office and hold interactions with the party workers every week comes at a time when the government is forced to make plans for holding elections to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike, which is overdue in one pretext or the other for almost three years now.

The Karnataka High Court has directed the government to hold BBMP polls by Jul1y. Though the delimitation of wards after increasing the number from 147 to 198 has been completed, the process of reservation of wards is yet to be completed. A question mark hangs on the conduct of polls within the stipulated deadline.

Yeddyurappa, incidentally, indicated that he has directed all his ministerial colleagues to hold similar interaction with the party workers in districts whenever they were on tour.

The ruling party has set an ambitious target of enrolling 25 lakh members as part of the membership drive to mark the birth anniversary of Bharatiya Jan Sangh founder Shyama Prasad Mookerjee. Such campaigns are launched once in three years as the membership has to be renewed every three years.

Yeddyurappa himself enrolled afresh to become the party member during the launch of the membership drive.

The party has given a target of enrolling at least 50 members to each of its workers. The chief minister asked partymen to ensure that at least 20 of the enrolled members were new members.

He stressed the need for including slum leaders into the party organisation so that a majority of slum dwellers will follow their leaders into the party fold. There was a dire need to include leaders from all sections to the party fold so that all communities could feel that the BJP is their party.

God listens to the prayer of poorest of the poor first, because he knows the difficulties the poor going to face with rain or without rain. Everyone prayed for rain who have problems without rain. There are also people live in this state who face problems with rain because they do not have roof above their head and they too pray to God. How will you justify this problem?

Now that CM claims that his prayers reached to God and he answered, the question in my mind is why he did not pray in the month of May or early June if he really loves his state? Why he delayed his prayers? I am neither against prayer nor putting God into test, but definitely dislike the claim that only his prayers reached to God and answered. “Bring maturity in your statement try to understand that you are the Chief Minister of a state now”. Instead of claiming our influence with God let us thank God for sending rain.

It is always ethics, that a ruler should look for the benefit of the system he rules. For past month there was accute shortage of water in dams, & naturally there was power cuts. So Yeddi had prayed for good rains as it in necessary for farmers & so to all, as Karnataka primarily depends on hydlepower. It is also true that this past week its raining heavily, & so why not we appreciate our Yeddi for his friendly nature. It is also foolish to always comment on Yeddi for his every statement. Naturally if one prays for benefit of all we should support him, & so vise a versa.

It is rainy season now that is why we are receiving rain. As some one above has rightly put it is rainy season and still many parts of Karnataka yet to receive adequate rain fall. Now regarding prayers, one should not claim that his prayers heard by God..!? Because we do not know whose prayers reached God.

The statement from our CM shows that he is still not matured. Prayers are good and everyone was praying for rains. But he should not make a propoganda about it. Some areas in Karnataka have still not received rains but in coastal Karnataka there is a fear of floods.

Rains have come not because Yeddy prayed in the temples for it but it is ''monsoon season'' and all of us know that. Mr. Yeddy please use your common sense. Jai Hind.

Man has enough time to pray, And God hears everyones prayer, and makes him happy. The moment he decides to cut the rope man has no time to pray. So always pray.

With these types of statement we can see how foolish he is. Does he think we are Bihari''s or Bhai''s for that matter.May be he is not watching the weather forecast. Anyway there is no need to forecast the weather yeddy can pray daily and let us know.what is the answer for people when trying to educate them by saying "Deforestation is not good it will change our climate, specially we will not get rains" and their question is how does it rain on the ocean. These people are of such category.

God is sure to answer the supplication of a person if he is pious, earns legal livelihood, speaks truth, does justice, helps poor and needy, respect other human beings and afraid of God in his every action and thought. If Yeddi passes these parameters, then I am sure what he says is right. Readers please guess.

What a ridicule statement by CM Yeddyurappa. This is mansoon season and everybody knows that we get heavy rain in the month of June and July. If he is so confiedent in his prayers he should have prayed in the month of April and May. This statement matches exactly when a begger goes to a wedding party and says that God has listened to my prayers for a meal which i have been praying for. Patha dappa yennala govinda.........
