Udupi: ‘Guruvandana’  Programme Marks ‘Ashada Poornima’

Udupi, Jul 9:
A ‘Guruvandana’ programme was held on Tuesday July 7 at Rata Beedhi, near Sri Krishna Math here, on the occasion of ‘Ashada Poornima’.  It was organized in association with Paryaya Puttige Math and the Tirupati Tirumala Dasa Sahitya Project, Tamil Nadu.
 
Over 3,000 devotees from 160 ‘Bhajan Mandals’ arrived here from across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Maharastra despite the heavy rains. 
 


The Guruvandana was held amid the chanting of Bhajans including 24 hymns of Haridas and devotional music in praise of the Divine.
 
Sri Sugunendrateerta Swami of Puttige Mutt graced the occasion and bestowed blessings on all devotees. 
 
Tirupati Tirumala Dasa Sahitya Project special officer P R Anandteerta Achar Pagadal was also present.   
 
Earlier, several lengths of silk cloth were also presented to Sri Sugunendrateerta Swam by Anandteerta Achar on Monday July 6 to adorn the deity Sri Krishna.
