Kasaragod, Jul 9: Hosadurga police arrested five people including an aide of underworld don Chota Rajan on Thursday July 9.

They are all wanted in various criminal cases across Karnataka state.



Chota rajan’s aide has been identified as Cyril Mathew (38), a resident of Kottayam and the others captured along with him are Abdul Latheef (32), a resident of Kasaragod, K K Naushad (28) and Rameshan (30) from Kannur. 

However, Rafeeq (30), resident of Uppala, managed to escape from the police operation.

Police seized one pistol and other deadly weapons from them. The team was caught near Kanhangad railway station.

Cyril Mathew was convicted for 18 years in a case in Mumbai. Police said that the team was involved in a bank robbery in Belgaum, Karnataka, besides several other criminal cases in various police stations in Kerala and Karnataka.
