Kuwait strongly condemns attacks on Saudi Aramco facilities


Kuwait City, Sep 15 (IANS): Kuwait strongly condemned attacks on Aramco oil facilities in the east of Saudi Arabia, the Kuwait's Foreign Ministry said.

The ministry on Saturday expressed Kuwait's strong condemnation of the two attacks, which hit Aramco facilities in Abqaiq and Khurais areas and led to outbreak of fires, Xinhua news agency reported.

The source condemned in the strongest terms the sabotage attack that targeted the security and stability of Saudi Arabia and the global energy supply.

He confirmed Kuwait's call on the international community to redouble efforts to curb such attacks and prevent their recurrence, stressing Kuwait's full support to Saudi Arabia in all measures it has taken to preserve its security and territorial integrity.

Saudi interior minister announced on Saturday that drone attacks caused fires at two oil facilities of Saudi petroleum company Aramco.

Yemen's Houthis on Saturday claimed responsibility for drone attacks on two Aramco oil plants in the east of Saudi Arabia, Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported.
