Abu Dhabi, Sep 27: Abu Dhabi Police arrested a group of Asian men for processing and selling banned tobacco in Al Ain city. The police said the men were arrested while processing banned tobacco known as 'Niswar' from a small factory set up in their home located in Al Safra.

The police also confiscated raw materials and high-risk processing equipment; including blenders and shredders from the small factory. The police raided the men's house after getting tip-offs from their sources. The men used to sell the Niswar in small sized-packages to various Asian workers, said the police.

After investigations, the police have revealed that the Asian men were staying in the country illegally after their visas had expired.

According to health authorities, Niswar poses a significant threat to the health of people and causes adverse impacts to humans similar to that of chewing tobacco because it contains nicotine.
