Mangaluru: Navaratri Utsav at Kudroli temple from September 29

Mangaluru Sep 27: The Navaratri Utsav and Dasara celebration at Kudroli Gokarnanatheswara Temple will be held from September 29 to October 9, said former central minister B Janardhana Poojary. 

Addressing media here on Friday, September 27, Janardhana Poojary said," The installation of Navadurga will be held on September 29 and procession will be carried on October 8,” 

Poojary did not reveal the name of the inaugurator of Mangaluru Dasara, even after journalists insisted. "I have been trying to contact some great personalities and you will come to know about it during the inauguration on September 29,’’ Poojary said.

 

He also said, "There are some changes in the procession and temple authorities have decided to take trucks carrying Sharada idol first and Navadurga will be carried after that followed by other tableaux. Every year tableaux moved first followed by Navadurga and Sharada,’’

Treasurer Padmaraj R, temple committee president H S Sairam, vice president Raghavendra Kuloor, secretary Madhav Suvarna, Trustees B K Tharanath, Ravishankar Mijar, K Maheshchandra, temple development committee co-president Urmila Ramesh Kumar among others were present.
