Bengaluru: Driver who fled with ATM cash van arrested - Money recovered

Bengaluru, Sep 30: Pawan, driver of a custodian vehicle who drove away the van along with huge amount of cash when the other employees were busy loading cash into the ICICI Bank ATM at Kammanahalli main road here, has been arrested.

Police personnel of Banaswadi station arrested Pawan on Sunday September 29 morning based on reliable information, the police said.

The driver, who was recently appointed, had suddenly driven away the cash van when the others including the security personnel had got down and entered the ATM. He broke open one of the chests and took away Rs 99 lac. He had fled after leaving the vehicle near Lingarajapura by the side of the road after driving it away.

A complaint in this regard was filed in Banaswadi police station. The police, who checked CCTV footage succeeded in arresting Mandya-based Pawan, and recovering the money from him.
