Udupi: Deadline to Navayuga to complete highway works extended - Shobha

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Oct 1: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP, Shobha Karandlaje, stated that Navayuga Infra, which was given contract for undertaking national highway works here, has been set a fresh deadline of December 31 to complete all works including Kundapur flyover and other works relating to national highway. She said that if the company misses this deadline, legal action would be initiated against the company.

In reply to questions raised by media representatives here on Monday, September 30 about the haphazard state of national highway works, Shobha said that contract for national highway works was entrusted to Navayuga before the BJP government rose to power. "After our government took charge, they stopped work citing financial crunch. Union minister, Nitin Gadkari, had convened a meeting and extended financial support. But the company has again stopped its works," she noted.

Karandlaje said that the minister concerned had recently held meeting with the company representatives, during which meeting the company representatives promised to begin work immediately after the end of the rainy season. She said that the government will wait till December 31 and take suitable steps as may be deemed fit.

How many more extence poor people can expect??
Why not stop the Toll collection. People can't expect this because This is the Life line of Politicians and corrupt officials. Over and above they are kind enough to allow Navayuga company to Collect toll at Two places within the gap of 7 km

Is Navayuga is the only company in India who has the capacity to do the roadwork or bridge construction. Why are we so tolerant with this company? For so many years this company also delivered substandard work and not meeting the deadline at all. Is the backflow of money to MLA's so high that no one is dared to blacklist this company?

I think Nalin Kumar sir is fed up with Navadurga construction co. Now madam shobaji is coming forward and giving assurances that the pending works of high ways will be completed before 31st December. Anyways if it is not done, then you must take legal action, as you stated. All the best.
