Sharjah, Oct 1: A driver escaped a catastrophe after the cruise control of his car got stuck at 135 kmph. Unable to stop, the 22-year old motorist immediately called Sharjah Police.

The driver was driving on the Emirates road from Sharjah to Umm Al Quwain at 12.30 pm on Sunday. When the patrol cars were dispatched, they cleared the roads, asked the driver to secure his seatbelt and bump into the patrol vehicle ahead of him.

The police officer in the vehicle ahead of the troubled driver tried to match his speed and the car came to a halt when the drive came in contact with the patrol car.

Fortunately, the driver survived the ordeal and prompt service from the police averted a fatal incident.
