Dubai: 'Nala-Damayanti' Yakshagana Talamaddale on Oct 11

Dubai, Oct 1: On account of stepping into the Decennial year celebration of Padmashali Family Dubai, a mythological Yakshagana Talamaddale play called 'Nala-Damayanti' will be presented on October 11 at 3 pm at the Bilva school Auditorium at Ghusais in city.

Guest artistes of coastal Karnataka will perform lead roles in the play which will be held in cooperation and co-participation of Dubai Yakshagana Tarabeti group. This programme, which will be held under the 'Bhagavathike' of Karunakar Shettigar Kashipatna, chief Bhagavatha of Sunkadakatte Mela, will also see Yakshdhruva Patla Sathish Shetty entertaining the art lovers through his melodious voice.

Special invitee Padmanabha Upadhyaya will show his exemplary skills in Chende-Maddale along with guest artiste Dayananda Shettigar. In addition, senior artistes of Abhyasa Taragathi Bhavanishankara Sharma and Puttige Venkatesha Shastry will cooperate in Chende-Maddale. child artiste Aditya Dinesh Shetty will cooperate in Chakratala.

Main roles will be donned by guest artistes Dinesh Shettigar Kodapadavu, Muralidhar Shettigar Kannadikatte and Sadashiva D Shettigar Kinnigoli. The rest of the artistes taking part in the presentation as 'Arthadharis' includes artistes of Yakshagana Abhyasa Tharagathi of Dubai Vasu Bayaru, Krishnaprasad Rao Suratkal, Sharat Kudla, Balakrishna D Shettigar Kinnigoli, Girish Narayan Katipalla, Satish Shettigar Vittal, Samanta Girish, Latha Suresh and Shekhar D Shettigar Kinnigoli.

Chief organizer of Abhyasa Tharagathi Dinesh Shetty has rendered help in organizing the programme.

Entry for this event is free. Fans and art lovers of Yakshagana art residing in Dubai are requested to attend this programme in large numbers by Ravi Shettigar Karkala, president of Padmashali community of Dubai, on behalf of the community.
