Bahrain Konkani Po’rza’s ‘Pressure Cooker Sasumai’ audio CD released

Media Release

Bahrain, Oct 2: Pressure Cooker Sasumai, maiden venture of Bahrain Konkani Po’rza was released after the Konkani Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bahrain.

The musical CD album was released by Fr Xavier D’Souza, parish priest of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bahrain accompanied by the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law duo of Ida Castelino and Sarita Gonsalves Castelino in the presence of Fr Darel Fernandes, assistant priest and spiritual director of Konkani Community, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bahrain and Fr Savio Fernandes, visiting priest and Henry Castelino, Konkani community coordinator.

The CD release event was witnessed by the Konkani speaking people of both Mangaluru and Goa origin.

The album consists of 15 soul-stirring numbers beginning with a prayer dance song ‘Karyachi Survath’, followed by other meaningful songs on parents, in-laws, exasperating men, life of a nurse and an emotional song on the memories of father. The striking number of the album is the song based on life of priests, the voice intriguingly rendered by priest themselves.

The theme of the songs is composed of heart touching lyrics and the quality of mixing and recording emit a fresh feel of music.

The title of the album ‘Pressure Cooker Sasumai’ itself conveys a message. A mother-in-law is a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a woman in the order of her role in life prior to becoming a mother-in-law. In the process of discharging her responsibilities, in these capacities, she accumulates enough compression within herself which releases like the pressure from the cooker; by the time she has a daughter-in-law in her house who may not be likeminded. With love and understanding it is possible for a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law to strengthen the bond between them and live like a mother and daughter under the same roof.

The CD release ceremony was well compered by Avinash Fernandes. Sponsors and supporters, who made this musical album a reality, were felicitated along with the local singers and people working behind the stage.

Immediately after the service, a record number of CDs were sold out like hot cakes which was indeed a feather in the cap for the producers of the album. As the proceeds of the sale is for a noble cause, we encourage all music lovers to buy and listen to this musical album which has mesmerizing music and great vocals.

The CD is available for sale at all leading stores in Mangaluru and the GCC. Daijiworld is the official media partner of the audio CD.
