Ahmadi Family Kuwait presents musical show, comedy drama ‘SBG Travels’ for charity

Kuwait, Oct 2: 'Ahmadi Family Kuwait (AFK),' a group of eight committee members from Ahmadi came together and formed this group to help Snehalaya and Humanity by staging musical show and a comedy drama using Kuwait’s local artistes on September 27 at Cambridge School Auditorium Mangaf.

The programme begun with a prayer song, along with procession of artistes with lights, and Fr Noel blessed the occasion with preface and well wishes.

Chief guests were Fr Noel D’Almeida, assistant parish priest, St Daniel Comboni Church, Abbasiya, Fr Roswin Pires, assistant parish priest Ahmadi Church, and Joseph Crasta, Snehalaya, Mangaluru.

The event was organized in two parts, first part was musical, and dancing extravaganza led and compered by Rony D’Cunha and Jasmine D’Cunha, music by Anil Pais, Jason Misquith and Joyston D’Souza.

Singers were Rony D’Cunha Jasmine D’Cunha, Laveena Pais, Gladys Lorena. Morvine Quadros and Ahmadi choir members. Dancing session was performed by two groups, Arabian Groovers choreographed by Glinda D’Souza and Taniya D’Souza, second group Dazzling Hoofers choreographed by Nancy Pinto. Patriotic song with state wise costume, variety of songs, multiple types of dances with different age groups were added extra colors for the event.

The second part was comedy drama ‘SBG Travels’ written and music by Nellu Permannur who came all the way from Mangaluru, story line by JP Thoominadu, lyrics by Wilson Kateel, tunes and music by Vanil Veigas, songs by Prajyoth D’Sa directed and acted by Lucy Aranha. The other artistes were Johnson Belman, Lionel Ajekar, Sathish Kateel, Blen Pangla, , Nellu Permannur, Rajesh Udyavar, Ashwini Puttur, Santosh Hospet, Prashant Ferrao, coordinated by Johnson Belman, and lights by Purandara Manchi.

The sponsors of the event were felicitated with mementoes and flower bouquets. The main sponsors were Dr Hind Hamad Ahmad Al-Bahar, Reliance Technical Co W L L. The silver sponsors were Keentech Electrical Contracting Co, Golden International Logistics Group, Khalil Bahman & Partners, Al Rashid International Shipping Co & Travelport, and media support by Daijiworld. The contributors of the programme like the director and artistes of the drama, music director, musicians, singers and choreographers were also felicitated with mementoes and flower bouquets. Prashant Ferrao rendered the vote of thanks.

AFK thanked all its sponsors, well-wishers and the audiences for their overwhelming support. The show was a super hit and successful as the auditorium was jam packed, as this is the first programme conducted by Ahmadi Family Kuwait.

AFK made very minimal expenditure for this event, and donated Rs 4 lac to Humanity and Rs 13 lac to Snehalaya with zero balance with committee members. The committee members are Prashanth Ferrao, Edwin Menezes, Philip Machado, Ronald Dsilva, Jackson Dsilva, James Goveas, Renute Dsouza and Sujay Mathias.
