Paresh Rawal apologises to Gorakhpur doctor Kafeel Khan

Lucknow, Oct 3 (IANS): In a rare gesture, actor Paresh Rawal has apologised to suspended Gorakhpur doctor Kafeel Khan for his derogatory tweet, made two years ago.

Rawal had called Kafeel a "hero in the eyes of the ever active termite clan" in a tweet soon after the BRD Medical College tragedy in Gorakhpur that led to the death of over 60 children due to lack of oxygen supply in August 2017.

Kafeel Khan was subsequently suspended and also arrested for alleged negligence and corruption that led to the tragedy.

However, he was recently absolved of the charges in a departmental inquiry.

Paresh Rawal apologised to him on Twitter on Wednesday. "There is no shame in apologising when one is wrong...I apologise to Dr Kafeel Khan," the actor tweeted.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Kafeel Khan had demanded an apology from Paresh Rawal.

"You have not just called me a termite but all Indians termites. This was unexpected of you as we are fans of yours. I demand an apology from you," Khan said on the social media.

Reacting to the apology, Kafeel Khan replied that while he was appreciative of Rawal's apology, "we should also be sorry to the 70 parents who lost their kids in the BRD oxygen tragedy."

The inquiry report in the oxygen supply incident submitted to the medical education department in April this year did not find Kafeel Khan guilty of medical negligence and corruption. It also said that he was not in-charge of the encephalitis ward where the tragedy had struck.

Why is nobody going after Yogi and his government for this great tragedy. 70 innocent lives have been lost due to negligence by the government. Yogi should accept the responsibility if he is a man. Otherwise he should be removed.

Each life is made up of mistakes and learning, waiting and growing, practicing patience and being persistent. Mistakes are always forgivable if one has the courage to admit them.

Rawal’s controversial tweet on Khan in 2017 was in response to a social media post, which had termed Dr. Khan a rapist. Rawal had written, “Yes but Hero in the eyes of ever-active Termite Clan!”

Dr. Kafeel Khan was born to a Renowned, educated family of Gorakhpur, Uttar-Pradesh. Khan was hailed as a hero after media outlets reported that he had spent his money to buy oxygen cylinders after the piped supply had been cut, and worked overtime to remedy the situation.

Gorakhpur doctor Kafeel Khan who was given clean chit by the court for children's death had seen one of the worst times in his medical services. Despite the court order CM Yogi's government has not reinstated him and paid the salary dues. During the course of legal battle, his brother is being shot and the family has faced several threat for exposing the irregularities in the BRD Hospital in Gorakhpur were the father-son duo of yogi's ruled for 40 years.

The Yogi's Uttam Pradesh says 7 deaths a day 'normal'. Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal realized it late but seen the pain of more than 25,000 children died in Gorakhpur in last 40 years.

If you have proof that he is guilty and erased evidence with his illegal wealth, you must show that evidence to the authorities so that he can be punished.

Exactly, that is what the BJP leaders have been doing. Erasing proof of their misdeeds. Have the basic decency to feel sorry for a wronged innocent man, unnecessarily tarnished to cover up for the sins of the inefficient and incompetent rulers. But as we all know bhakts do not have it in them.

I, Never expected from you these kinds of statements as I value as a good & model actor.
Now apologising alone is not enough, you have to compensate and be punished for the loss caused by your statement on Dr. Kafeel Khan.
Also, make a scrutiny of your statements made to other people as well.

Cut the throat & say sorry.
Rawalsaabh how can you define him culprit before investigation.
Khan needs help when he is arrested for nothing & that time you tweeted against him as all the bhakhths texting on the all social media platforms.

Now you comes to know he is innocent suddenly you twisted your tongue.
Killing by words is more dangerous then killing physically.
