Bengaluru: State went bankrupt under 6 years of Congress rule - Minister C T Ravi

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Oct 4: The opposition leaders of Karnataka state are taking the state and central BJP governments to task because of the inordinate delay in getting the flood relief funds from the union government. Both leaders of ruling BJP and opposition are waging a Twitter war in this matter. In one such exchange of tweets, minister for tourism C T Ravi has expressed his anger on former chief minister and senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah.

In his tweet, C T Ravi says, "You (Siddaramaiah) and INC (Indian National Congress) have looted the state of Karnataka for six years and left in bankrupt in every way possible. With what face are you accusing chief minister B S Yediyurappa of making the state bankrupt and asking him to resign? Don't the words shame and morality exist in your dictionary?"

Earlier, former CM Siddaramaiah had tweeted on his account, "Honourable chief minister of Karnataka B S Yediyurappa, after accepting that your government has gone bankrupt, you have no moral right to stay in power even for a single minute. Please resign and leave the office immediately. Do not punish the people."

In addition, Siddaramaiah has tweeted, "Honourable B S Yediyurappa and BJP, why you are sacrificing the state of Karnataka for your internal rivalry? Narendra Modi government does not have the eligibility to provide flood relief funds to the victims of the deluge. You also do not have the capability of submitting report asking for reasonable compensation. You government is not only bankrupt financially but also ethically." He has tagged B S Yediyurappa and Narendra Modi in this tweet.

CM B S Yediyurappa had indirectly hinted in Belagavi that there are not enough funds with the state government to give compensation for the crop that is lost in the recent deluge. A flood relief progress meeting was held in the auditorium of the zilla panchayat of Belagavi under the leadership of Yediyurappa on Thursday. In this meeting Ananda Mamani, MLA of Savadatti constituency had sought information with the CM on the steps taken by the state government with regards to the crop loss in the state. In reply, CM Yediyurappa had expressed his helplessness and said that funds will be released by the center and we will give compensation as per the rules of the union government.

Let this Ravi admit that the Central government doesn't have the funds to distribute to the flood affected people. He is trying to deflect the failure of the party he comes from and is finding reasons and excuses. When the government is unable to come up with funds to help the needy, what moral right does it have to continue in office? When they can arrange funds at a pinch for the purpose of buying the MLAs, will anyone in his right senses believe what this fellow says. The people of Karnataka are suffering due to lack of money and these insensitive, atrocious politicians are playing politics. Shame on them. Oh, sorry I forgot the politicians are shameless creatures.

The BJP has only learned to abuse the name of Gandhi, Nehru, and Pakistan whenever the party is exposed.

Indicating the growing income of people of Karnataka, official data shows that the state has contributed 9% of the total Rs 6.96 lakh crore direct taxes in 2014-15. The data on the income tax of the last 16 years, released by the Centre. Karnataka stands first among all the states of India in terms of revenue generated from software exports.

When it comes to centre on tax revenue sharing formula, Karnataka state under BJP ruling doesn't even have money for flood victims. But this is the same party escorted 20 MLA's with the five-star hotel stay paying more than Rs1,000 crores under 'Operation Kamala'.

The BJP is the highest number of MP's elected from the state. But can't even raise their voice in the Lok Sabha.
Unfortunately, if you ask about unemployment they will blame Nehru.
If you ask about development they will point fingers on Gandhi.
When nothing works out the BJP blames 'Pakistan' the easiest way to deceive even the educated class.
To stop the critics 'Bharat Mata ki Jai'.

C T RAVI this is the problem of democracy ! political parties are not looking at eligible candidates to fill the right portfolio to give the justice in order to perceive the development of country ! but no one interested ! Indian Politics only to blame here and brush away the public money and impose more tax on them to recover the money which they spent for nothing or something gone to their personal accounts exactly the DKSeeee case !

The black money list or taking back from the switze no one is talking about now ! Ram Mandir which was started at least 30 years back still no clue ! but people are very happy to vote in the name of religion which never helped them unless they work to get the daily bread ( which is also included in GST)

If the government is bankrupt from where the salary for five deputies of Yeddy comes ? It's your govt that is taking taxpayer's money for granted. How many of you are ready if a demand is put forward to slash all politicians' salary by 50% ?? None ! This is the concern you have for the bankruptcy of the govt !

Secondly, how come Tejasvi Surya is claiming that the government has sufficient finance hence no grant from the centre is required ??

So, what is your problem to distribute aid to flood victims coming from centre???. It's not coming from your state treasury a reason for you to act broken now and pocket that money. So who paid all those MPs and MLAs in crores for you so desperately to come to power if grapes are sour now????. Stop playing blame game and ask Tejaswi Surya who says Karnataka is financially strong and all flood victims will get aid soon. You should be complaining to centre and EVMs if you don't have money for helping you gain power. People did not vote you to power. Why are you complaining to public if you can't delver????!!!!!...
