Family Fest-2009 was held at family Hall, Ambalpady here on Saturday July 25. The fest was inaugurated by G Shankar Family Trust, Udupi President G Shankar.
 
Kaup MLA R Lalaji Mendon, who was the chief guest on the occasion said that Mogaveeras settled abroad have shown their love for the motherland by holding programmes that reflect the cultural richness of the land abroad. In the similar manner heir contribution to the social and educational development in their motherland has been immense. He hoped that the members of Mogaveera community in foreign countries will continue to hold such development programmes in their motherland in the future too.
 


United Arab Emirates Mogaveeras (UAEM) president Lokesh Putran presided. Lokesh Putran and Neeta Putran as well as other office-bearers of the UAEM were felicitated on the occasion. The programme was jointly organized by the Trust, UAEM and Mogaveera Yuva Sanghatane (MYS), Udupi. MYS president M S Sanjeeva, Bagwady Hobli Mumbai Samiti Mogaveeras president Suresh Kanchan and samiti member Gopal Putran were present.
 
As part of cultural programme, students of Vagjyoti School for Hearing and Speech Impaired of the trust presented Seeta apaharana, a Yakshagana episode. Vidyaniketan BEd College students, members of MYS, Udupi and UAEM with their variety entertainment programmes as well as Shyamili, daughter of Shankar with her dance performance entertained the audience.
