Mangalore: Students stage Protest Against Attacks

Mangalore, Jul 29 (DHNS): The Dakshina Kannada Students Federation (DKSF) organised a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s condemning the recent instances of series of attacks against students in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, DKSF convener Shakir alleged that the police threaten victims instead of booking case against miscreants.

Police did not take any punitive measures against Sri Rama Sene even though their involvement in attacks were established, he said and added that police try to settle attack related cases through compromise instead of registering it.

A total of 7 students were attacked at different places in the district in one week, he said and urged the district administration and police to take necessary steps to maintain law and order.

SFI District Secretary Jeevajraj Kuttar urged the authorities concerned to take necessary action against the miscreants who carry out attacks against students in the district.
He said that the miscreants are engaged in spreading Fascism in school and college campuses. In the meantime, they are also trying to break the communal harmony among students.

SIO leaders Mohammed Nisar, Asif Iqbal, Talent Research Foundation convener Riyaz, NSUI District President Thejaswiraj and SFI District President Prashanth Acharya were present.

Society is spoiled not by the bad people..but by the indifferent attitude of the good people. What is wrong if students protest against the series of attack against them & police is reluctant to register a case against the miscreants...peaceful agitation is the only way... ''Injustice is the root cause of all the evils in the society ".

Poor DKSF members, students, members of other student organizations and members of minorities when will you realise that you are going to gain nothing by these type of protests except loss of time and energy. When all of you will come to know that the Hindu terrorists known as Rama Sene are not alone in India. When will you understand that they carry out their terror against minorities in India , especially in Karnataka on the assurance and support of police force. When will you realize that these hindu terrorists will try to destroy victims of minorities only. Therefore it is better that all of you poor students realize these facts and not waste your time and energy in future.

Mangalore police department is good for nothing nd it is a wellknown fact. They did not act wisely during the church attacks nor they are going to do anything now. It is totally corrupt. Hope these protests don't go in vain. Students are spending their precious time in protesting with the intention to bring change in the society. I hope that the government makes a note of it.

Confusion prevails! Who is the oppressed and who is the oppressor? The fact of the matter is Hindus are the oppressed from several centuries and now some of them became aware of this!! There is a need for others to understand and respect the feelings of most tolerant Hindu community. Hindus have a great quality of respecting and accepting other religions. Even I am sure that Ram Sene won''t attack anyone who does not have any evil motive. Violence is condemnable always but one needs to forgive our Hindu brethren who will definitely give up violence in due course.

Irrespective of religion all students should join hands together to fight united against the chronic social disease of communalism, goondaism & anti-socialism. Students should discourage public property damaging & dope supplies to the students. Students should encourage the students to participate in sports & games in their institutions. Students should realise that united we stand & divided we fall.

When the Fundamentalists find that there is harmony among different communities they find it difficult to digest it. These Fundamentalists or Fascists are Uneducated or Unemployed with no purpose of better future but to create trouble. It is time that the youngsters take the lead step for a better future. We just cannot depend on the Police.

Regular call for justice will crush these fundementalists. Also the Police have to ensure that those arrested several times should be jailed for minimum 2 years.

It is good to see students coming to protest peacefully against these miscreants. otherwise it was always common to see religious groups carrying banners and protests which would create a bad scene or create tension. whatever it is students have the power that can shake the whole nation if they are united and do something good for the society. whereas for thepolice i don''t understand why they are not performing their duties properly.
