Moodbidri: MLA Abhaychandra Jain Elected Chief Whip of Opposition

Moodbidri, Aug 1: The government of Karnataka created the post of the chief whip of the opposition in the legislature. Abhaychandra Jain, Congress MLA representing Moodbidri-Mulki constiency of D K district has been appointed as the chief whip.

The post carries the status of a cabinet minister. Abhaychandra Jain is backed by the experience of having functioned as the chief whip when Dharam Singh was the state chief minister. After his name was proposed by the members of the Congress Party, he was declared unanimously elected for the post.

People from Moodbidri and nearby places have expressed happiness about the elevation of their MLA to the post.

    I wish the MLAs and MPs in this country who represent us have a system of communicating with the people. In fact Congress Party has got a website where you can register for membership, but although the registration is accepted, you get no confirmation. How can a Progressive Party ignore the online avenues availble for getting feedback? I find the Congress Party in Karnataka has abdicated their responsibility and have allowed a fied day for the BJP. I don't think the Party is doing enough to highlight local issues to the High Command. For example, when BJP was opposing FDI in retail, Karnataka Govt. had organised Global Investor Summit for FDI in agriculture and signed MOUs for an investment of one lakh crore! Could the Congress party not have exposed BJP's double standards? Now it is understood that 22000 hecatres of agricultural land has to be handed over to the investors as per the MOUs. Is this correct

    "A legislater appointed by the party to enforce party DISCIPLINE and secure the attendance of the members of the party at any important session,especially when their votes are needed" is called whip.here it suits to Mr.Abayachander Jain because he is a very DESCIPLINED gentleman.He deserves this post.Congratulations Mr.Abaychander Jain and thanks to The Government of Karnataka for honouring with this great opportunity and may God almighty fill him with His wisdom to carry out his duties successfully.

    Abhaya deserves it. He is one of the best leaders I have ever seen in my life..,congress lost MP s elections in malore just coz of lack of good leaders like abhaya..if abhaya stood in mlore or udupi definitely he would have been  elected as MP..,whatever Sir Abaya congrats....
