Dubai, Oct 25: Commuters faced a tough time due to disruption of metro service in several stations due to a technical malfunction on Thursday night. As per reports, metro service was disrupted twice in a row within an hour's gap and passengers were stuck at various stations for almost an hour, before alternate bus services were deployed.

The Road and Transport Authority (RTA), through its official handle tweeted, "Dubai metro services in Emirates Towers Station has been affected on the red line. Alternate bus service has been deployed between Jafiliya and Business Bay stations."

As reported in Khaleej Times, passengers told the publication that the metro doors have been open for almost half an hour and trains were not moving. The RTA after the first disruption tweeted, "RTA announces that the technical malfunction has been resolved and the affected metro stations are operating normally.
