PM Modi warmly welcomed by Saudi King


Riyadh, Oct 29 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud who hosted lunch in honour of the visiting Indian leader.

"A relationship reflecting centuries-old ties! PM A@narendramodi was warmly welcomed by Saudi King HM @KingSalman underlining a new dimension to our expanding relationship. His Majesty hosted a lunch in honour of Prime Minister," tweeted MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar.

Modi is on a day's official visit during which the two sides will ink an agreement to set up the Strategic Partnership Council to elevate the India-Saudi ties to a new level.

Modi will also attend the Plenary Session of the Third Future Investment Initiative Forum being held in Riyadh.

    Whatever you call or today's ties with KSA, one thing is sure this meeting is very crucial on issues like Pakistan diplomacy , Kashmir 370, Babri verdict, Palm oil negotiations, Ambani commission, oil and gas ect.. Gujju hai bhai pukkat nahi jayega!!!. Whenever PM is out of country means some KAND in India he makes and go!!

    Earlier UAE used to store oil under SPR & now Saudi Arabia at their own expense.
    In addition to saving shipping & handling cost & close proximity to India, this would be helpful in case of emergency situation like war where Indian citizen’s won’t have to pay exorbitant price at that time & helps to control oil prices worldwide.
    This is called diplomacy & good foreign policy.
