Fujairah, Nov 2: An Arab youth, working in Al Aqa area near Dibba here, was swept away by high waves and went missing from the beach of a hotel where he was working.

The victim was reportedly removing debris left behind by the cyclone Kyarr while he was pulled into the sea by the high waves.

An office staff told Khaleej Times that the victim, who was working for the food and beverages section, was on duty at the backyard of the hotel overlooking the sea.

His colleague who witnessed the incident said, "He was on duty at the backyard of the hotel overlooking the sea. He was surprised by a high wave that dragged him into the deep water. It was difficult for anyone to give a hand as the sea was very rough,” as quoted by Khaleej Times.

"The authorities were alerted about the tragic mishap and later on, his body was fished out of the sea," he added.
