Udupi: Devotees Throng to Witness ‘Shobha Yatra’ of Lord Krishna

Udupi, Aug 15: ‘Shobha Yatra’, the grand procession wherein the idol of Lord Krishna is carried in a palanquin, was held on Friday August 14, the second day of the Sri Krishna Mahotsava, a month-long worship at the Sri Krishna Math, here. 

‘Swagatam Sri Krishna’, a variety programme, was also held at the Rajangan of the Math. 








































Vedavyas Aithal led the special ‘puja’ to Lord Krishna by placing the idol of the deity in a cradle and carrying it along the Rath Beedhi. 

State home minister Dr V S Acharya and his wife Shantha V Acharya, Dubai business magnate B R Shetty and his wife Dr Chandrakumari Shetty, M P Sadananda Gowda, Bangalore astrologer S K Jain, Sri Sugunendrateerta of Puttige Math, as well as Sri Raghumanyateerta and Sri Raghuvarendrateerta of Bheemanakatte Math, were also present. 

A large number of devotees thronged the Rath Beedhi while the grand procession was being held.

    Thank you Mr.Hemant for giving the readers to have a beautiful look even if they cant be present in the ceremony.One can feel the traditional fragrance of Janmasthami Celebrations being away from the homeland. It is nice to see scholars like Dr.B.R.Shetty,h’ble Home Minister V.S.acharya along with Mr Sadananda Gowda,who encouraged the event with their presense and hope will increase the enthusiasm of the participants .Huge responsibility remains on the youth shoulders to carry forward the tradition of Pili
