Hi, I was shocked to see Mr Gangi Reddy''s name here. I know him for years when he was serving in Uppinangady polica station as Sub Inspector. Apparently Udane Police station did not have telephone at that time and they used to come to our house. He was considered to be very honest, brave officer at that time. He was driving force in capturing Marijuana(Gaanja) growers in deep jungles of western ghats. Killers of elephants for tusk were captured and many more such to add. Anyway, it is not a fair world which changes people in time. Can''t say anything until we know the truth.

Raiding and catching the Police Officers or other officials by the Lokayukta Police is now common and has no impact either on the corrupt system or any accuse, because within few days they not only get back their job but are also promoted to higher post! Few years back a Sub Inspector of Police in our town was arrested red handed and suspended by the Lokayukta Police, but now he is a Cir Inspector! So this is called "Andher Nagri Chawpat Raaj" Good luck to Mr. Gangi Reddy, the Would be Commissioner of Police!!

Lawrence, you are trying to give a justification for amassing huge wealth way of bribe (in some cases people are forced to)by many Govt. Officials. If you want understand the proprtion of this wealth then visit a police stn/Income Tax/sales tax depts and also the residences of these officials. They don''t seem to be satisfied even after making crores and their childred either go ashtray or study in foreign countries.

Though I never met this gentleman, I was told that Gangi Reddy is an able police officer. We can''t afford to loose such officers. I am sure most police officer have disproportionate assets. Government should introduce a performance bonus program for police officers so that they will have enough money to maintain their standard of living by doing things right. Their children should get government paid college education in any college. If their needs are met, there will be little chance for greed and these officers will be upright in discharging their duty.

Still catching small sardines..? what about the big sharks? no guts to raid them dear lokayukta.. sorry forgot that you dont have more powers .. the people who employ u should be raided first. also, if the police department was given the fair share of taxes (increase thier salary 10 fold pls they are the keepers of peace, our protectors, including u''ll dear politics department.. then i dont think gentlemen like mr reddy would have to take a wrong path to create property for the education and security of thier family).

It''s an personal grudge because i know one of this lokayukata official DySP Prabhudev Mane, he''s one of the most corrupted guy when he was serving in the Bunder police station as Circle inspector of Anti Rowdy squad. So how could someone expect the truthness in this case? So my advise to the lokayuktha chief justise Santhosh Hegde, please get rid of these corrupted officers first from your team & put them behind the bars then only you will succeed in your task.I''m not defending Gangi Reddy here, almost every police stations has the similar stories.

There are many people like Rangi Reddy. Raiding a house will not serve the purpose. You should target 200 people per day without bias. Why cant you raid politicinas house where we may get assets in 1000 crores, which can be distributed to poor. As you know politicians are puplic servents ,in turn they are getting salary . But then how they are having assets in 1000 crores. Please look into that matter first. Please dont raid based on personal revenge. Good luck

In the initial stage the Lokayukta should target highly corrupt officials who have stacked more than 500 times disproportionate to their known sources of income. As our PM had expressed that the ITOs, STOs, excise officials, Lokayuktas and others should target the big sharks in Govt. & private section. Then, automatically the smaller sharks will come to track.
