Udupi, Aug 29: The Lord Ganesh idols were taken for immersion in a procession by the local Ganeshotsav committees of Kaup and Katpady, near here, with pomp and gaiety on Thursday August 27.  The idols were ceremoniously immersed in the Arabian Sea.

Tableaux of mythological episodes, fire gymnasts, and colourful displays of fireworks were held during the procession which was witnessed by innumerable devotees. 






















  

The Ganeshotsav committee of Kaup organized its 30th Ganeshotsav celebrations while Katpady organized its 25th Ganeshotsav celebrations.

Udupi, Aug 29: After five days of worship, the idol of Lord Ganesh installed by the Ganeshotsav committee at Bramavar was taken for immersion in a procession on Thursday August 27.  


The procession started from the Government Primary School, Bramavar, and made its way past the old bus stand, police station, AIR complex, Gandhi Maidan, and culminated in the lake at the Sri Mahalingeshwar Temple, here. A colourful display of fireworks was held at Gandhi Maidan during the procession.



















 

Thousands of devotees joined the procession and witnessed the immersion of the deity’s idol in the temple lake.

Vaman Pai of ‘Kuniyo Ganapa’ fame was felicitated by the committee for his contributions over the past 25 years.
