Bangalore: Vidhan Soudha becomes Mute Spectator to Cockfight between Two BJP MLAs

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Aug 29: As if they are determined to deliver further blow to the sagging reputation of the BJP government in the state, two of the party MLAs fought with each other right in front of Vidhan Soudha and washed dirty linen in public. After exchanging unparliamentary words, they were about to engage in fist-fights, on Friday August 29.

Honnali legislator M P Renukacharya and Yalahanka MLA S R Vishwanath were the two politicians, who took the dirty politics in the state to a new low, and let others know what material they are made of. The onlookers on the road were entertained to witness a street brawl they normally came across in slums, between the rulers elected by them. The supporters of the respective leaders thwarted the efforts made by the two MLAs to rain blows on each other, but by then, they had already hurled the choicest abuses people try to avoid in day-to-day life.

Renukarcharya and Vishvanath

Backdrop: When S R Vishwanath was coming out of Vidhan Soudha through one of the doors of the building, Renukacharya was entering it. As the two crossed each other, Renukacharya heard Vishwanath muttering something. Enraged at this gesture, Renukacharya started a loud diatribe against Vishwanath, pointing his fingers at him and using filthy language. Vishwanath, angered by this act, retracted his steps and confronted Renukacharya. Renukacharya threatened Vishwanath that the latter would face the consequences for collecting signatures of party members, on a letter addressed to the party leadership, demanding ouster of the former. Vishwanath challenged Renukacharya, cautioning that Renukacharya can not roam around in Bangalore streets after confronting him and the party.

Even after the employees of Vidhan soudha, security personnel, policemen and the general public gathered at the site and had a good entertainment, the two did not relent. When the two were about to replicate wrestling bouts of World Wrestling Federation, the supporters intervened and succeeded in leading the two in different directions.

Renukacharya has already been served a show cause notice for his acts of indiscipline, for which he has given his reply. The leadership of the BJP is yet to decide on this issue. In the meantime, Vishwanath had taken a lead to collect signatures of the party legislators, demanding the expulsion of Renukacharya. Renukacharya knew that several MLAs including Ravi Subrhmanya, Dr Ashwath Narayan, Nandeesh Reddy, Suresh Gowda, Nagaraj etc., had signed this letter. Renukacharya nursed a grouse against Vishwanath for his initiative and let lose his anger when the two met after a gap of about 15 days.

The BJP is in a wrestling match, in between them, from the national level to the state level. What a great show for the people to watch, free of charge. We have not witnessed such a "soap opera of politics" since the independence.

BJP is a party with difference and now we have been watching these differences both in national and state level. Devide and rule is their policy and now they themselves are devided and dont know to rule and just only know how to devide. Great saga. Keep it up. Jai Ho Nagesh Maam....

When BJP or any other opposition parties come to power, they are used to oppose everything, & its a habit.Habits Die Hard. All the Mla''s want to have ministerial berth, so that they too can share the spoils of governance. That''s what happend here also, its nothing new for us gullible voters, as long as we don''t have the power to recall these elected members, these things do happen.
