Mangalore: St Aloysius High School ‘Class 75’ Students to Reunite on Dec 27

Mangalore: St Aloysius High School ‘Class 75’ Students to Reunite on Dec 27
Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SB)

Mangalore, Sept 1: A get together of all the students of the class of 1975 of St Aloysius High School to pay tribute to their alma mater will be held at the school here on December 27 at 4.00 pm. It is expected to be a historic occasion where students of Class 75 from all over the world will gather after about 35 years on the school premises.

It will be an occasion to remember the good times had at school, in the presence of families as well as teachers and staff of the school.

A lot of preparation for the day has already been completed with many of the classmates responding very enthusiastically when contacted. Alumni based in Mangalore have teamed up to make the occasion memorable, and are meeting regularly to chalk out the programmes. Harish Suvarna is preparing a dossier containing profiles of all the students of Class 75 and their families. Materials along with rich collection of photographs of our school life for a power point presentation are being readied.

A “Class of 75 Alumni Trust” is also being contemplated, which would take the form of a corpus the interest from which will be used to support poor students of high school and primary sections with books, uniforms and shoes.

One can send profile as soon as possible so that we can include in the dossier. The photographs of school days too can be sent as an attachment for including it in the power point presentation. Feedback such as structure, goals and modalities of the trust to be formed is also welcome.

Hi Robert, pls. do not think we have ever discriminated against anyone. We are having a reunion of only the English medium as it is quite cumbersome to get contacts of all our class mates. We have managed to get hold of a majority and are still trying to get some more contacts. Do not feel hurt about this. We definetely hope to meet sometime in the near future. Best regards,

I appreciate the efforts taken by Jude and Roland to organise this reunion. I am a 1975 batch 10th std. student. Though I cannot recollect Jude I remember Roland. In those days for each class we used to have 5 sections, namely a,b,c,d,e. Sections a,b,c were kannada medium sections and d and e english medium. If I have not mistaken Jude and Roland were both in english medium. I was in section c, i.e kannada medium. There was a lot of discrimination between english and kannada medium in those days. 35 years later, I am sure we are matured enough to know that language should not be a barrier to know and interact with each other. I would very much like to be a part of this reunion. I wish the organisers all the best.

A splended idea. It will be a wonderful occasion for the old classmates to meet and share their experiences. These are the fortunate ones. I am an Aloysian too but happen to be a vintage model - a 1922 model leaving the portals of my beloved Alma Mater in the early forties. Even if I were to make attempts I do not think I will be able to get more than 6 classmates together. The 1975 batch is indeed fortunate to assemble so many ex friends together. I wish the event evry success. By this comment to Daijiworld, I invite my old classmamtes to respond and get back to me on my eamil:>joegonsalves@yahoo.com< Joe Gonsalves

I am one of the lucky ones who will be a part of this reunion. In fact, this reunion has brought us so close, that one should see the excitement in us. Some of us will be meeting each other after nearly 35 years. Though we have contacted nearly everyone from this batch, we could not trace a few. In case you happen to have not been reached out yet, please contact me.
