it is an organisation by roman catholics, but we will not let religion alone come in the way of good deeds.Doing good is as equally important as any religion. There is so much money around us.BUt there is no channel for it to reach the needy. So many uneducated chidren due to poverty,so much malnutrition, so many people die due to lack of money for medicine. All these are the top agenda of our association. We do not restrict ourselves to meetings and retreats but have a wider vision of orphanage visits, aids patient visit, old age home visit, sponsor food for the poor, education sponsor, medical aid, peace rallys, blood camps, awareness against social evils etc etc. Come join us to see what we are and what we dream to achieve. YOu can back out if u feel its not worth it. Feel the satisfaction of living life with peoples blessings which count more than money !! God bless you and me Melroy

At last something is happenning among the christians of all denominations in Mangalore. So far we never came together. We always looked at each other as ''we'' and ''they''. We have to thank God for at last we have seen the need to be united. My wish is that it becomes vocal. Don''t restrict your meetings only to prayers, retreats, seminars, tea and snacks, etc. Do something concrete. All the best, UCA. We are with you.

From what I can make out it is a collection of only Catholic''s and not Christians as a whole secondly what is a priest doing here, either it has to be Catholic association or Christian association or it will be old wine old bottle and new label, hope some things are clear

An Association like United Christian Association, with it''s noble intentions, was long over due and should mark the beginning of a new awakening in our christian community. Objectives such as educating the community on religious issues, praise and worship, creating political awareness, leadership and dissemination of information on Govt.facilities meant for poor and the less fortunate, among others will definitely bear fruits if wrought with sincerity and seriousness of purpose. While congratulating the responsible veteran konkans for establishing this Association,I wish them all the very best in their endeavours.God Bless.

I have my doubts whether United Christian Association is something constructive or it is only anti clergy. You criticize the clergy, but do not stop at that, as so far many individuals and konkany papers have done. Do something worthwhile and show your credibility. Do not curse the darkness alone, but light a candle. Best wishes.

I am extremely happy to find that the laity of Mangalore have formed The United Christian Association. This is a much felt need and in fact Rev. Father Ronnie Prabhu held meetings at the Fatima Retreat House in an attempt to bring various Christians of different denominations together. Christ died for all - all Christians and non-christians included and we must work together in spirit of understanding and love for the common good of people. Would the leaders of this august body consider having another body of like minded people - Christians, Hindus, Muslims and others under an umbrella form to understand each other and solve the problems the country is going through. This is my sincere thought, wish and hope. Joe Gonsalves
