Mangalore: Teachers’ Service Appreciated with Best Teacher Awards

Mangalore, Sep 5: Achievers in the field of education were felicitated at Town Hall here as part of Teachers’ Day celebration organized by zilla panchayat (ZP) and department of public instruction on Saturday September 5. In all 12 teachers from various primary and high schools of the district were felicitated and presented the district best teacher award.
Speaking on the occasion district in-charge minister J Krishna Palemar said that the role of teachers in the formation of a good society is the most crucial. Behind every successful citizen is a good teacher and hence teachers should be accorded the much required respect they deserve, he said.
He added that the state government has given due to importance to develop education system and also enhance facilities provided to the teaching staff.
Mangesh Bhat, Ganapathi Higher Primary School, Devaki, Government Higher Primary School, Munnur, Bhaskar Rai, Government Higher Primary School, Kallige, Bantwal, Srinivas, Mai De Deus Higher Primary School, Puttur, Seetharam Gowda, Government Higher Primary School, Pailaru, Sullia, Devdas Hedge, St Ignatius Higher Primary School, Paladka, Moodbidri, Prabhakar Hegde, Government Higher Primary School, Mangalatota, Beltangady from the primary school section and Aloysius D’Souza, Rosario High School, Mangalore, Purushotham, St Philomina High School, Puttur, Shambhushankara, Government High School, Gerukatte, Beltangady, Abdulla, NMPU, Aranthod, Sullia, Eliza D’Souza, Carmel High Shool, Bantwal from the high school section were the teachers who were felicitated.
B Chandravathi Rai, headmistress from Government Higher Primary School in Mullakad was honoured as a special recognition for her remarkable service in the field of education.
The representatives of the high schools that achieved 100 per cent results in SSLC examination were honoured by distributing certificates.
Palemar, member of parliament Nalin Kumar Kateel and mayor Shankar Bhat were among who felicitated guests.
Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, district president, Kannada Sahitya Parishad, deputy mayor Rajani Dugganna, taluk panchayat president Ramachandra Kumpala, Rajashree Hegde, chairman of ZP education and health standing committee were also present.
